The Lady Leopards allowed no drama in a game they led by as many as 60 in a 73-17 final on Tuesday against McNair in the opening round of the state playoffs. #4-ranked Banks County (24-4) won their 17th game in a row, and dominated from wire to wire, triggering the 6-minute 3rd and 4th quarters after taking a 38-point lead at the half.

It started with an 11-0 burst in with Ryleigh Murphy drained a couple of 3-pointers to quickly put the nail in the coffin. She had 13 first-quarter points (all on 3-pointers and one free throw), and sister Reese Murphy had 12 after one. Banks County led 29-8 at that point.

In the second, the Lady Leopards outscored the Lady Mustangs (14-15) 19-2 to take a commanding 48-10 halftime lead. Carley Segars got hot in the second quarter, and had 12 points in the first half. Ryleigh and Reese Murphy had 18 and 12, respectively, by halftime.
With a 6-minute clock in each of the last two quarters, there wasn’t much intensity the rest of the way. The home team outscored the visitors 25-7 in the second half while cruising to the final horn.

Ryleigh Murphy had a game-high 23 points and made 6 shots from downtown. Reese Murphy had 17, Segars 14, and Addison Hoard 8. Maggie Irvin finished with 4 points, while Emmie Chitwood had 3, and Maddie Hicks and Marleigh Dale 2 points apiece.
Banks County rolls on to yet another Sweet 16!
