The BLITZ Girls Soccer Players of the Week are Ivy Tolbert (Commerce) and Kaitlyn Johnson (Lumpkin County). Tolbert won the Fan Vote with 10,485 of the 18,629 total votes. Johnson was the BLITZ pick.

IVY TOLBERT – COMMERCE

Ivy Tolbert has healed remarkably quickly. That’s truly a testament to the determination she’s had to push through the pain and overcome the odds of not playing this spring. The senior in the football region title game against Rabun County broke her leg. She was determined not to miss her senior soccer season. She’s endured so much to get back here. The All-American and back-to-back BLITZ Player of the Year had a hat trick for the Lady Tigers last week, earning her mind-blowing 13th career BLITZ POW award. With more than 200 goals in her career and hopefully tons more to come this season, Tolbert, truly a generational talent, is putting the finishing touches on an video-game like career.

Kaitlyn Johnson had a masterful 2 matches last week for the top-10 ranked Lady Indians. The sophomore midfielder racked up 8 goals and 2 assists, with a pair of hat tricks. This is her first POW award.
