
Commerce used a 40-point second half to take a win at Tallulah Falls in a key region matchup on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers (13-9; 3-3 in 8-A DI) never trailed in the contest, though the Lady Indians (8-11; 2-4) were within 29-24 at the break.

In the opening quarter, Commerce put together a 16-2 run to take control. Malay Mitchell had 10 points in the quarter and a pair of 3-pointers. Tallulah Falls dragged its way back into it with a 10-2 run that spanned 2 quarters. An Allie Phasavang 3-point play and layup by Haygen James, along with Breelyn Wood’s clutch shooting, had TFS 5 points back at the half.

Commerce ran from there, outscoring Tallulah Falls 24-10 in the third and 16-8 in the final period, with Mitchell and Raven Parks, along with Jada Palumbo doing much of the damage.

Parks had 22 points and Mitchell 21 for Commerce. Palumbo had 14, Jayla Collins 6, and Vi’tory Williams 3. Wood led TFS with 20 points, and was followed by Phasavang with 8, James with 6, Adrijana Albijanic 4, Molly Mitchell 3, and 1 for Joanna Molodynska.
