The Indians held a #10 state ranking last year with a solid group of players. However, the 13 wins were just a bit shy of a playoff spot. Coach Greg McCall has once again had some big players move on to the next level, but has enough in place to make a return to the postseason.

Head Coach: Greg McCall (11th Season)
2023 Record: 13-15; No Playoffs; #10 State Ranking

Returning Starters: 4
Key Returners: Colby Fowler (SR CF; 2x 1st Team All-Region; All-State); Craig Thurmond (SR SS, Mercer commit, All-State), William Roush (SR 3B/OF), Ethan Smith (SR 1B)
Key Departures: Nick Randall (Region Pitcher of Yr; UNG); Ben Stowe (3x 1st Team All-Region), Bailey Stowe, Garrett Pless, Dylan White (1st Team All-Region), Grant Babbitt (Young Harris)
According to coach McCall, Stephens County lost 90% of its starting pitching.

Team Strengths: “Hard-working group with desire to get better each day; attention to details,” says McCall of the strengths.

“Goals are to get better with each day, take it one inning at time, and gel the new pitching staff together by region time,” says McCall.
