Commerce baseball has long held the honors of being a consistent threat to win region and make deep playoff runs. The Tigers had an up-and-down season last year, going 14-19, but still made a Sweet 16 appearance and held a #4 ranking in the state early on. The strength this year is on the bump, and up-and-comers who waited their time will need to step up early on for this team to continue to thrive.

Head Coach: Steve Cotrell (16th Season)
2023 Record: 14-19; State Sweet 16; #4 State Ranking

Returning Starters: 5
Key Returners: Jaxon Foster, Coy Argo, Beau Neisler
Key Departures: Hampton Hutto, Cayden Lord, Coleson Smith

Team Strengths: “We will have 10 seniors in which all got playing time last year on the varsity,” states Cotrell. “Last year’s squad, even though we never peaked, lost guys like Hampton Hutto and Coleson Smith who had been 3-year starters that will be hard to replace, but we have had a few kids waiting in the wings for their shot. We will have to pitch well and defend much better then last year to have a successful year as our schedule will be very tough not only with region but non-region games.”

“Our goal is to get better every day and always to win the region (easier said than done),” adds Cotrell.
