The Lady Raiders lived on the 3-pointer in a fantastic team win over Jackson County at home Friday night by a 47-40 final. Habersham Central (6-11; 3-3) evened its region record while hitting on 11 shots from downtown, with nearly all of its second half points coming off the deep shot.

In the early going, the Lady Panthers (3-15; 0-6) looked to be in control with an 8-2 run. Makenzie Gosnell and Karah Dean, both freshmen, connected on 3-pointers, and senior Kyia Barrett hit a go-ahead triple as part of an 11-3 Lady Raiders run. It was a 13-11 Hab Central lead after the first.
Though Jackson County outscored Habersham in the second, Dean had another pair of trifectas, as the Lady Raiders trailed 25-23 into the break. In the third, Gosnell had two more early shots from beyond the arc, with one by Dean in between. It was a low-scoring third, as Habersham outscored Jackson 10-6 in the quarter. That was good for a 33-31 lead heading into the fourth.

From there, the Lady Raiders continued to come up big from outside. Senior Sophie Bramlett connected on one, and Barrett put the game away with one of her own from the top of the key. She connected on 3 late free throws to seal the win.
Dean led Habersham with 15 points, all coming on the 3-pointer. Barrett had 11, Gosnell 9, Daytona Underwood 7, Bramlett 3, and Ahmia Roberts 2. Jackson County was led by Maddie Harkins with 9 points, followed by Chandler Blake and Macey McCutheon with 8 apiece. Anna Maxey had 7, and Brooklyn Bruce had 5.
