Emma Lightsey put on a clinic with 8 3-pointers in a 79-41 for #5 White County against #10-ranked Union Tuesday evening at home. The Lady Warriors outscored the Lady Panthers 64-29 over the final 3 quarters in a wire-to-wire win.

#5 White County (11-1; 2-1 in 7-AAA) was matched early in the game, as Union’s Kamryn Mull hit a big 3-pointer, though Lightsey’s second retaliated immediately. The latter had 7 points in the first, and Mull had 6 with a pair of trifectas as well. It was 15-12 in favor of the home team heading into the second.

#10 Union County (4-6; 0-0 in 8-AA) only mustered up 11 points in the second, while White County used a 3-point play from Aubrey Free as part of an 11-1 run. That had the Lady Warriors up 26-13, and Kylie Watkins had a couple of shots form beyond the arc to help get the lead up to 37-23 heading into the half. She and Lightsey both had 9 points apiece in the first half, as did Mull for the Lady Panthers.

In the third, Lightsey and Watkins combined for 17 of the team’s 22 points, with Lightsey connected on 3 more 3-pointers. She added 3 more in the final quarter to close with 31 points and 8 3-pointers. Watkins had 16 points, including 3 3-pointers. Zoe Burkett had 13 points, Free had 8, Mya Yeh 6, Aaliyah Anderson 4, and 2 for Allie Beth Nix.

Union County was led by Mull’s 12 points. Lara Turner had 8, Hensley Adams and Katelyn Brown each posted 7, Ariel McCarter had 6, and Morgan Warren had one.
