The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Jon Scott (White County) and Sammy Brown (Jefferson). Scott won the Fan Vote with 10,194 of the 22,168 total votes. Brown was the BLITZ Pick.

JON SCOTT – WHITE COUNTY

Jon Scott has been one of the top tacklers in our area and the entire state for that matter. His 158 tackles ranked first in the state among all classifications after the first round of the playoffs. The junior linebacker registered 17 tackles and one for loss against Bremen in the Warriors’ round one exit. This is Scott’s first POW award.

SAMMY BROWN – JEFFERSON

Know what you’re thinking…Sammy Brown? Again? Well, yes. He’s that good, and the Dragons used every bit of his performance last week to get past the opening round. The senior RB/LB had 13 tackles, and rushed for 92 yards on 12 carries (7.7 YPC) with 3 TDs. He also had a 41-yd TD reception. This is Brown’s 13th career BLITZ POW award.
