Our teams competed in the GHSA State Championships Friday and Saturday. Several teams had top-10 finishes, and many individuals were among the leaders.

AAAAAA

Habersham Central

The Lady Raiders placed 17th overall, and Audrey Hotard was 10th (19:27) and Abigail Hotard 69th (22:04). The Raiders’ Aiden Thaxton represented the Habersham boys. He came in 34th (17:20).

AAAAA

Jefferson

The Dragons finished as the state runner-up team! Ben Davis (16:22) was 4th, while Brock Brush (16:24) was 6th and Austin Click (16:49) was 23rd. The Lady Dragons finished 10th as a team. Hannah Schroeder was 51st with a 21:35, while Lily Janning came in 52nd at 21:35.

AAA

Dawson County

The Lady Tigers were 5th at state, with Hayden Hand placing 6th (20:45) and Addison Smith 22nd (21:55). Anna LeCave (38th; 23:17) and Jules Phillips (39th; 23:20) were in the mix as well. The Tigers were 6th as a team. Tyler Tangel was 25th with a 18:03 time, while Bailey Swafford was 28th (18:05).

Lumpkin County

The Lady Indians were 8th overall. Keli George was 12th at 21:19, while Quinn Dierkes was 51st at 23:51. The Indians were the state runners-up. Wyatt Windham led in 4th place with a 16:17 time. Ben Sherrill was 7th at 16:41.

White County

The Lady Warriors came in 9th overall. Emma Windham was 8th at 20:52, and Madi Black 57th (24:10). The Warriors were 10th, led by Alex Brannon (33rd; 18:14) and Aiden Pickett (35th; 18:16).

8-AA

Banks County

Pepper Davis represented Banks County and placed 5th individually at 16:57.

Union County

The Lady Panthers came in 4th place, and Lola Hunter was 5th with a 20:26 time. Ellie Adams came in 19th at 22:08.

8-A DI

Rabun County

Lady Wildcats were led by Itzia Vasquez (26th; 22:43) and Molly Mazarky (52nd; 23:58), coming in 14th overall as a team.

Tallulah Falls

The Indians placed 13th as a team, and were paced by Timothy Beck (38th) with an 18:20 mark. Teagan Penland was 47th with an 18:32. The Lady Indians were 7th, setting a new program-best. Avery Keim paced TFS with a 31st-place finish of 22:49, while Josie Chesser was right behind at 32nd with a 22:52.

8-A DII

Towns County

The Lady Indians finished 14th as a team, and were paced by Ansleigh Hardin’s 26th place run of 26:20. Mary Durham was 42nd at 27:35. The Indians came in 8th, and were led by Connor Williams (14th; 18:54) and Jordan Lopez (56th; 20:55).
