The Lady Leopards had a historic run in 2022-23, going all the way to the Class 2A State Championship game. Banks County was about invincible last season, and return several All-State players and a roster flat-out as talented as any in our area. Coach Steve Shedd should have another special run in store for his team.

“We are excited about Valentina Torres earning a starting role on the team this season,” says Shedd. “Having a lot of experience returning like Addison Hoard (2nd Team Preseason All-State) and Carley Segars (Preseason State #8 Center) who were both All-Region last year helps a lot. Ryleigh Murphy (3rd Team Preseason All-State) and Reese Murphy were both Region Honorable Mentions that will help add length and athleticism to our team. We look forward to the addition of incoming freshmen Ella Kate Shedd and Marleigh Dale to help bolster the guard and post positions and add depth to our team.”
Offense: Variety
“We can score in a variety of ways (in transition, on the perimeter, and under the basket),” adds Shedd. “We look to be more fast-paced and score more points. Allow our defense to create offense off of turnovers.”
Strengths: “Experience. Depth. Offensive balance. Speed and aggressiveness capable of pressuring teams full court.”
Biggest Challenges: “Staying healthy throughout the season,” states Shedd.

“Our goals for this season are to remain focused one game at a time,” exclaims Shedd. “If we can keep our focus and limit complacency, we feel like the expectations will continue to be high for our team.”
