Our 12 local schools have all competed in their respective Region Championships. That represents 24 different teams from 12 schools, and in 7 different regions.

8-AAAAAA

Habersham Central

The Lady Raiders finished 3rd to qualify for state. JR Audrey Hotard (18:54) became a 3-time region champion by winning the race. JR Abigail Hotard (20:35) finished 5th. The Raiders finished 5th outside the state cut, but SR Aiden Thaxton qualified individually with a 2nd-place finish (16:21).

8-AAAAA

Jefferson

The Dragons were the Region RU, as SR Austin Click was the individual champion with a 16:11 time. SR Teammate Ben Davis had a 16:15 to finish 2nd, and JR Brock Brush was 4th at 16:26. The Lady Dragons won the Region Championship behind SO Hannah Schroeder and her 3rd-place finish at 21:07. SO Lily Janning (21:27) was 5th, SR Lauren Hailey was 7th (21:46), and SR Kate James (22:00) was 9th.

8-AAA

Stephens County

The Indians missed state by finishing 5th. SR Micah Burkhart (19:27) came in 21st, and JR Lucas Thompson and FR Colsen Ivy finished back-to-back at 27th-28th with a 20:04 and 20:14, respectively.

7-AAA

Dawson County

The Lady Tigers finished 2nd to earn a state berth. Dawson was paced by SO Hayden Hand (10th; 21:28) and SR Anna LeCave (11th; 21:50), as well as SO Addison Smith (13th; 22:07) and SO Harper Dussouy (17th; 23:05). The Tigers came in 3rd to also get into state. SR Tyler Tangel was 7th with a 17:55, JR Bailey Swafford (17:56) was 8th, and SR Luke Lowe was 10th (18:03).

Lumpkin County

The Lady Indians finished 4th to notch a state berth. Lumpkin was led by SO Keli George (8th; 21:16) and FR Quinn Dierkes (18th; 23:15). Meanwhile, Lumpkin’s boys won the Region Championship behind a Runner-Up finish by JR Wyatt Windham (16:45) and 3rd-place run by Ben Sherrill (16:56). JR Sam Edwards was 5th (17:19).

White County

The Lady Warriors came in 3rd for a state berth. White County’s SO Emma Windham led with a 4th-place finish at 20:51, while SO Maddie Evans was 19th with a 23:18. The Warriors were 4th to get a state bid as well. SO Alex Brannon (18:18), JR Aiden Pickett (18:22), and FR Dawson Whitlark (18:25) were 16th, 17th, and 18th.

8-AA

Banks County

The Lady Leopards didn’t field enough to qualify for state, but SR Camdyn Poole came in 19th with a 23:25, and FR Bailey Baker was 32nd at 26:31. Banks’ boys were 6th, missing the state cut. SR Pepper Davis qualified individually with a 2nd-place finish at 16:38. JR Andrew Pope was 32nd with a 20:11.

Union County

The Lady Panthers secured a state bid with a 3rd-place team finish. SO Lola Hunter was the Region RU with a 19:36 time, and SR Ellie Adams was 13th with a 22:33. The Panthers were 5th, missing the cut for state. They were led by SR Benton Gregory (17:22) who finished 8th. SR Wes Seiler was 17th with an 18:02 time.

8-A DI

Commerce

The Commerce boys came in 6th, missing out on state. JR Noah Prickett was 20th with a 20:42 time, while SO James Truluck was 31st (21:35).

Rabun County

The Lady Wildcats made state by coming in 4th. SR Itzia Vasquez was 6th (22:45), and SR Molly Mazarky (25:07) was 18th. The Rabun boys didn’t make the cut for state, coming in 5th as a team. JR GB Anderson (19:22) was 9th individually, and SR Hayden Deslich (21:21) was 27th.

Tallulah Falls

The Lady Indians secured a spot at state with a 3rd-place finish. Freshman Avery Keim was 7th with a 22:48, and FR Olivia Henderson came in 9th at 23:07. The Indians also made state by finishing 4th. JR Timothy Beck was 4th with an 18:37, and Teagan Penland came in 11th at 19:26.

8-A DII

Towns County

The Lady Indians were 3rd, claiming a spot at state. JR Ansleigh Hardin was 7th with a 26:50, while FR Mary Durham was 9th with a 27:05. The Indians were also 3rd, earning a state berth. JR Connor Williams was 7th (19:08), while FR Jordan Lopez was 15th (20:35).
