The BLITZ Football Players of the Week are Hayden Gailey (Habersham Central) and Jaiden Daniels (Commerce) and Cal Faulkner (Lumpkin County). Gailey won the Fan Vote with 18,471 of the 40,264 total votes. Daniels and Faulkner were the BLITZ Picks.

HAYDEN GAILEY – HABERSHAM CENTRAL

Habersham’s Hayden Gailey played well in the Raiders Week 10 contest. The senior CB registered 13 tackles and hauled in an interception. This is Gailey’s first POW award.

JAIDEN DANIELS – COMMERCE

Jaiden Daniels rocked the Granite Bowl with a memorable performance of 293 rushing yards and 4 TDs, and a 92-yd kickoff return for a TD. The junior back has had several monster games, but this one has to be near or at the top with the implications of the contest in a top-10 matchup that helps shape Region 8-A DI as the Tigers strolled past Elbert County. Daniels now has 1,353 rushing yards and 15 TD on the season and the KOR TD as well. For his illustrious career, he’s up to 4,284 yards rushing with 47 TD and 76 receiving yards and 101 passing yards (2 TD). This is his second POW award of the season and 5th of his career.

CAL FAULKNER – LUMPKIN COUNTY

Cal Faulkner had one of the best games of his already amazing career. Some games he throws more than he runs, and other days he’ll take what the defense gives him. He earned every one of his 139 rushing yards in the 4 OT thrilling win over White County. Lumpkin County stayed undefeated and in the driver’s seat of 7-AAA, and Faulkner’s 5 TD on the ground were the reason. He added 42 passing yards and also had 2 interceptions on defense. One was at the 2-yard line and set up a 98-yd game-tying drive to send it to overtime. The other came in the 4th overtime. This is Faulkner’s second POW award of the season and 6th of his career. For the season, Faulkner has 845 passing yards with 8 TD and no picks, and has 629 rushing yards and 12 TD.
