
The annual Harrier Harvest at Tallulah Falls was as spectacular as always, with the crisp fall air set against the backdrop of the color-changing leaves. The meet is unique, and features a set of hay bales in which runners can jump over or run around a couple of times through the course.

The boys race saw Lumpkin County junior Wyatt Windham torch the field, as he finished with a 16:30, 47 seconds ahead of teammate, senior Ben Sherrill. Dawson County competed in the meet, with Luke Lowe, Bailey Swafford, and Tyler Tangel finishing in order 5th-7th. Stephens County’s Micah Burkhart was 9th, Tallulah Falls’ top runner Timothy Beck was 13th, and Towns County’s top runner was Connor Williams (32nd). Commerce’s Noah Prickett was 40th. The Dawson County boys won the meet, with Lumpkin coming in 2nd.

Meanwhile, the girls race saw Dawson’s sophomore Hayden Hand win with a final time of 20:51, 29 seconds before the next-closest runner. Lumpkin County’s sophomore Keli George was 3rd, while Anna LeCave was 4th and Addison Smith 5th. Tallulah Falls’ Avery Keim was 6th in the event, and Towns County’s top girl was Ansleigh Hardin (38th). Commerce’s Belle Gary was 51st. The Lady Tigers of Dawson County won the event, with Lumpkin 2nd and Tallulah Falls 3rd.
