SAWYER BEARDEN – DAWSON COUNTY
Sawyer Bearden stepped up big for the Tigers in their tough loss to White County. The senior WR averaged 30.4 yards per catch, reeling in 5 passes for 152 yards and 2 TDs. This is Bearden’s first POW award. Bearden also becomes the 200th Dawson County player to ever receive a POW award, and the 800th senior athlete to win one.

REID GILES – RABUN COUNTY
You’d be hard-pressed to find another player around with a bigger night than Reid Giles. The sophomore running back for #3 Rabun County ran at will in the win over #5 Fellowship Christian. Giles had 251 rushing yards and 3 TDs, two of them going for 50-plus yards. He averaged 16.7 yards per tote, and also hauled in 2 catches for 27 yards in a career night. This is Giles’ second POW award (the other coming last year in baseball).
