
Week Seven featured final tune-ups before region for some teams, and others got in their first or second region contest.

#3 Rabun County 42, #5 Fellowship Christian 28
The Wildcats earned a signature win in a 42-28 victory, their 16th straight home win. Ty Truelove ran for a pair and threw for a TD, and Reid Giles had a monster game with 3 TDs. Fellowship Christian held a second quarter lead of 14-7 after a punt return for a TD and a long passing TD. Reid Giles opened the game with a 64-yd TD. Truelove’s 15-yd TD pass to Willie Goodwyn made it 14-all in the second. Giles had a 10-yd plunge for the go-ahead score before the break. In the third, Truelove had a 1-yd TD to push it to 28-14. The Paladins got an 11-yd TD from their QB, but Giles opened the fourth with a 51-yd TD. Truelove added another 1-yd score with about 2 minutes to go.
White County 24, Dawson County 14
White County got a huge win over Dawson County, 24-14. Tripp Nix opened the scoring with a 50-yd TD to Isaiah Whitlow. Preston Bannister tied it up for Dawson in the second with a 61-yd TD to Sawyer Bearden. Ryan Fowler’s 10-yd TD made it 147 Warriors as they went to the half. In the third, Hayden Vandegriff knocked in a 33-yd FG, and Fowlery had an 8-yd TD on the first play of the fourth for the 24-7 lead. Bannister hit Bearden on a 52-yd TD moments later, but neither team scored the rest of the way.

#7 Lumpkin County 30, Wesleyan 21
The Indians remained unbeaten and grabbed a huge region win over Wesleyan, 30-21. The game was tied at 7 apiece heading to the second, but a safety for Lumpkin game the Indians a 9-7 lead. Mason Sullens had a TD run (his second) a bit later to push it to 16-7. Wesleyan retaliated, but Cal Faulkner’s 26-yd TD run put Lumpkin up 23-14 at the half. The Wolves opened the second half with a 6-minute drive that got the game to 23-21. The Indians had a 5-minute scoring drive in the fourth to help put the game away.
#4 Commerce 28, First Presbyterian 14
The Tigers stayed hot with a 28-14 win over FPD. It wasn’t easy, as First Presbyterian scored first and held that lead til the second. They scored again to open the second and go up 14-0. From there, it was all Commerce. The Tigers went for it on 4th & 8 from their own 30 to get something going, and Jaiden Daniels did just that, getting them down inside the red zone. Tysean Wiggins punched it in from 10 yards out, but the XP was no good. It was 14-6 at the break. In the third, Daniels had a 61-yd TD, and Ivy Tolbert’s PAT made it 14-13 as Commerce trailed by one. Wiggins had a 42-yd TD a bit later, giving the Tigers a 21-14 lead. Commerce scored again before the fourth, and held from there.

Habersham Central 34, Jackson County 27 (2 OT)
The Raiders won a doozy for their first region win. It was crazy from the opening kick, as Somdee Satiphone took the ball 95 yards for the score. That 7-0 lead held through the first. With just over 10 seconds left in the half, DJ Pass connected with Carter Barrett on a 70-yd TD to make it 14-0, which held until the fourth. As usual, Habersham took it down to the wire. Jackson County got a 1-yd TD from MJ Spurlin on the first play of the final quarter. With 51 seconds left in the game, the Panthers scored again but missed the point after, keeping it at 14-13. The game was 99% over. Even though Habersham recovered the onside kick and scored a 51-yd TD from Antonio Cantrell, the Raiders also missed the XP to keep it at 21-13 with 40 seconds to go. Jackson moved the ball quickly up the field, and got a 12-yd TD as time expired, and made the PAT to send it to OT. Jackson County scored on its first play of overtime, going up 27-20. The Raiders tied it with a 6-yd TD by Cantrell. In the second OT, the Raiders went first and scored when Pass ran one in. Hayden Gailey intercepted a pass on 3rd down on the Panthers’ attempt, ending the game.
#2 Stephens County 38, Monroe Area 7
The Indians rolled through Monroe Area with a 38-7 beatdown, staying perfect on the season.
East Jackson 41, Banks County 0
East Jackson made no drama in a 41-0 win over Banks County, handing the Leopards an opening loss in region play and a second straight defeat.
#2 Jefferson 44, Winder-Barrow 0
The Dragons remained undefeated overall and in region with a 44-0 win. A safety and a Gavin Markey 1-yd TD made it 9-0 in the first. Rett Hemphill had the safety. Aiden Jackson sacked the QB, and Kelan Butler had a scoop-and-score for the 16-0 lead in the second. Sammy Brown added a rushing TD a few plays after blocking a punt, putting Jefferson up 23-0. Markey then hit Talan Childress for an 18-yd TD before the break, as the Dragons led 30-0. Zay Minish and Mickell Pittman added rushing scores in the second half.
#2 Greene County 47, Towns County 0
The Indians dropped a 47-0 game to remain winless this season.
