Reid Giles ran wild in a 42-28 win for the #3-ranked Wildcats against #5 Fellowship Christian in Tiger. Rabun County stayed hot with a fourth consecutive win. The visiting Paladins led briefly in the first before the Wildcats rallied to take a 21-14 lead going into the break.

Rabun County scored on its opening drive when Giles broke free for a 64-yd TD run. It came after a long touchdown pass from Ty Truelove to Cooper Welch that was called back on a penalty. A bit later, Fellowship Christian tied the game on a punt return for a TD by Josh Millhollin. They went ahead minutes later on a 42-yd TD from Jonathan Granby to Millhollin.

In the second quarter, the Wildcats were able to tie it up when Truelove found Willie Goodwyn in the flats, and he went in for the 15-yd TD. Later in the second, Giles had a 10-yd touchdown run to give Rabun the lead for good. There was a missed opportunity to add to the lead when Rabun missed a field goal as time expired in the first half.

Coming out of the break, Rabun quickly made a stop on defense, and proceeded to score on a 1-yd TD by Truelove with 5:11 to go in the third. Fellowship would respond when Granby scored from 11 yards out with just over a minute left in the quarter.

In the fourth, Giles put the game away with a 51-yd TD to put Rabun up 35-21. Then, with just over two minutes left in the game, Truelove scored his second rushing touchdown – again from a yard out – to push the lead to 42-21. Fellowship added a late score to finish it off.

Rabun County improves to 5-1 on the season ahead of opening region play next week. The win was the 16th straight home victory for the Wildcats, who improved on their offensive average of 32.6 points per game. Fellowship Christian drops to 3-2 overall.
