PRESTON BANNISTER – DAWSON COUNTY

The Tigers needed a change. They made one at QB when plugging in Preston Bannister. Dawson County was rewarded as the junior in his first career start put up over 300 total yards and 4 TDs in a win over West Hall, the first for the Tigers this season. Bannister had 209 passing yards and 3 TDs, and added 105 yards on the ground with another TD. This is Bannister’s first POW award.

IVY TOLBERT – COMMERCE

Consider the rarity of a girl as a high school kicker. Now consider the way Ivy Tolbert has handled it the past 3 seasons. The senior just notched her 100th career point after converting all 5 extra points and a 32-yd field goal in the Tigers’ win over Banks County. We did some research, and according to MaxPreps, the top 10 girls kickers in the nation’s history at the high school level included 3 kickers from Georgia. Granted, this article was written in 2012, but in 11 years, very few girls have entered the conversation of even being a high school kicker. SEE ARTICLE HERE. Of that list, a few had 100-plus points, but none from Georgia. So more than likely, you’re looking at the top girls kicker in Georgia history! This is Tolbert’s 12th career POW award, making her the 2nd-most decorated BLITZ athlete ever.

JAIDEN DANIELS – COMMERCE

The star RB Jaiden Daniels continues his stellar career. The Commerce junior rushed for 162 yards and a pair of TD in a win over Banks County for the #4-ranked Tigers. He also had 31-yd passing TD. Daniels now has 713 rushing yards and 7 TDs on the season. For his career, he has 3,644 rushing yards and 39 TD, adding 68 receiving yards and 101 passing yards and a pair of TDs.
