Week Four is official! Here’s what happened!

*keep checking back for additions to the recaps as that data becomes available.*

#4 Jefferson 44, #7 Oconee County 7

The Dragons just throttled Oconee County at home, scoring the first 37 points before the Warriors even got on the board. Sammy Brown had 4 TDs, starting with a 7-yd TD, then a 41-yd score, 2-yd TD and 67-yd run for pay dirt. In between all that, Skyler Zimmerman blocked a punt, had a scoop n’ score, and multiple big tackles. Taylor McCall had a 30-yd FG, and Rhett Hemphill added a late TD run. Jefferson was up 7-0 after one and 30-0 at the break.

#1 Stephens County 35, Dawson County 0

The Indians continue to pummel opponents, notching yet another shutout and these teams are polar opposites right now. Stephens is ranked #1 in one poll and unbeaten, and Dawson is still seeking its first victory.

Union County 50, Armuchee 3

So nice of the Panthers to allow Armuchee a chance to get rid of the bagel they had on the board. Their FG came in the fourth after going down 43-0. It was a 36-0 cruiser at the break for Union County, while Caiden Tanner and Jensen Goble had a pair of TD connections. Braylen Rader added a couple TD runs in the first half, and Tanner later notched a rushing score.

Banks County 34, Franklin County 16

The Leopards remained unbeaten with a convincing win over the Lions. Aucy Jacobs had first blood on a 25-yd TD. Franklin County would tie it up in the second, but Aaron Scott returned the next kick over 80 yards for the go-ahead score. A field goal for the Lions brought it to 14-10 at the half. Jacobs scored a 6-yd TD on a fake field goal attempt in the third, then scored on an 80-plus yd TD (his third) for the 28-10 lead in the fourth. Scott had a pair of INTs, and the second one led to a 5-yd TD of his own for the final score for the Leopards.

Lumpkin County 35, Temple 0

An egg was left on the board for Temple. Lumpkin County grabbed a dominating shutout to remain undefeated with a 35-0 win over the Tigers. It was a 14-0 game after the first, and that held to the half. The lead stretched to 21-0 heading into the final quarter, and the Indians added another pair of TDs for good measure. Cal Faulkner had a 10-yd TD run and a TD pass to Luke Evans in the fourth quarter alone. Mason Sullens also had third quarter TD run.

Habersham Central 17, Central Gwinnett 10

Hab Central pulled off a huge win over Central Gwinnett by a 17-10 final, as the defense played completely stingy ball and the offense did what it needed to. This gets the Raiders their first win of the year. Habersham had a 17-0 lead heading into the fourth.
