Sammy Brown and Skyler Zimmerman put on a clinic in Week 4, as the #4-ranked Dragons took all the drama out of the game with a 44-7 win over #7 Oconee County. Jefferson was up 30-0 at the half, and scored the first 37 points of the game.
Gavin Markey connected with Talan Childress to get the Dragons going early, setting up a 7-yd TD run for Brown. After a Mac Ricks interception of Markey had the Warriors deep in Jefferson territory, they missed a 31-yd FG. A few plays into the second quarter, Brown broke free for a 41-yd TD that put the Dragons up 14-0.

Oconee County fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which was recovered by Michael Moss. That led to a 30-yd FG for Taylor McCall. Later in the quarter, the Warriors were backed up inside the 10, and had to punt with little room. Zimmerman busted in and blocked the punt, which ricocheted out at the 2-yard line. Brown easily got in from there for the 23-0 lead.
Moments later, disaster struck Oconee again. The ball hit the floor, and Zimmerman snatched it up and cruised into the end zone for the 30-0 lead. Brown added a 67-yd TD early in the third, and Rhett Hemphill added the final score to polish it off. The Dragons are now 4-0 on the season while Oconee County is 1-3. Jefferson had the 10th-ranked offense at 35.3 per game and the 4th-best defense at 12.7 in Class 5A, but bested both numbers in this one.
