Gavin Markey had his breakout performance in Week 3 for the #4-ranked Dragons in the dominant win over St. Pius X. The junior signal-caller threw for 174 yards on 10-of-14 passing (71%), with 3 TDs. His QB rating was a 153.0, as he managed the game really well. This is Markey’s first POW award.

WILLIE GOODWYN – RABUN COUNTY

This will go down as one of the best performances by a wide receiver in state history. Every time Willie Goodwyn caught a pass, it turned into something huge. His 3 TDs went for 70 yards, 72 yards, and 88 yards. The 3-star Cincinnati commit had 6 catches for 260 yards and 3 TDs, averaging 43.3 yards per reception. His yardage total ranks 15th in state history. Former teammate and now Virginia WR Jaden Gibson had 2 games above that (273 yards and 285 yards, both in 2022). This is Goodwyn’s third career POW award. His season totals are 341 receiving yards and 5 TD on 11 catches, and he now has 789 career yards receiving with 13 scores!
