The Habersham EMC Linemen of the Week for Week One are Jack Hood (Rabun County) and David Heredia (Union County).

JACK HOOD – RABUN COUNTY OL

Jack Hood is a 2-time All-State offensive lineman, and playing like every bit of that already. The tackle posted a ridiculous 90% grade for Rabun County in the Wildcats’ win over Haralson County. Hood helped pave the way to 362 total yards of offense, including over 9.5 yards per carry in the run game. This is Hood’s second career POW award.

Other Standouts: Cody Meeks (Union SR C #59 – Paved 302 Rush Yds; 8.9 YPC); Wyatt Hammons (Stephens SR OT #76 – 85% Grade on 1st game back since ACL surgery in 2022); Banks County OL (SR #66 Bret Griffin, SR #75 Mason Dodd, SR #62 Andrew Huphries, JR #52 Ashton Camp, JR #77 King Johns – 247 Rush Yds, 124 Pass Yds, 5 TD); Commerce OL (Boston Brown, Dante Smith, Michael Duncan, Joey Duncan, Braxton Epps – 325 Rush Yds, 6.91 YPC)

DAVID HEREDIA – UNION COUNTY DL

Union County SR David Heredia wasn’t even playing at 100%, as he had an ankle injury that he was dealing with. Even then, the defensive end was a monster for Fannin County to deal with. Heredia recorded 12 tackles, including 8 of the solo variety. That came with a sack and a forced fumble as well. This is Heredia’s first POW award.

Other Standouts: Jakob Lunsford (Stephens SR DT #74 – 9 TKL, 1 TFL); Robert Walker (Banks SR DE #72 – 5 TKL)
