The Lady Warriors made history in many ways last season. The 34-14 campaign was a high-mark for wins, and came with the team’s first-ever Region Championship and Final 4 run, and made it a string of now 5 years in a row making the playoffs. The #3 state ranking also is a program record. Now White County turns the page under year two with Yarixa Oakes over the program. The Lady Warriors are seeking to get better for when the playoffs arrive, and they’ll have a great number of starters rolling it back.

Head Coach: Yarixa Oakes, 2nd season
2022 Record:
34-14; Region Champions; Final 4; #3 State Ranking

“Our is to focus on preparing for region play through tough non-region matches,” says Oakes.

Personnel

Returning Starters: 6

Key Departures: Claire Beckman

Key Returning Players: Linsey Burke, Jenna Pratt, Maggie Blair, Kate Blair, Sarah Blair, Emma Kerley

Burke is the all-time leader in assists, and is back for another run, along with fellow seniors Maggie, Kate, and Sarah Blair. Juniors Jenna Pratt and Emma Kerley (back from injury) are going to be critical pieces. The Blair girls and Pratt combined for about 850 kills, so there’s plenty there to replace leading attacker Beckman, who graduated.

Strengths

Strengths: “Offense is our strength on our pins,” says Oakes, as evidenced by the number of leaders back in that area.
