The Lady Warriors were on the cusp of getting back to Columbus last season for the first time since their 2010 State Championship team. White County was 2-2 in the Super Regional round, and while losing some talented players, return a huge portion of the lineup for another shot this season. 2023 has the makings of a special year in White County.

Head Coach: Drew Owens, 9th season
2022 Record:
18-9; State Playoffs (2-2 in Supers)

“Just play hard and the rest will take care of itself,” says Owens on the team’s expectation. “The talent, experience and desire to compete is there and will prevail in the end. #5outs”

Personnel

Returning Starters: 6-7

Key Departures: Katelyn Boman, Cree Cantrell, Kaylie Holbrook

No doubt the Lady Warriors will miss the production of Boman, Cantrell, and Holbrook, but the cupboard is far from bare.

Key Returning Players: “It’s hard to pinpoint a portion of our team as we have 13-14 athletes that will play a significant role in our 2023 season,” says Owens. “Our ability to compete and be successful this season will rely on each player doing their job with efficiency.”

With so many experienced players back for White County, the lineup should be in great shape!

Strengths

Strengths: “Solid leadership with a big senior group that has a lot of playoff experience under their belt,” says Owens. “We have a roster full of girls who play with tenacity and grit. Consistency in the circle combined with speed and pop in the middle of the lineup will give us a chance every game.”
