In a surprising announcement on Friday, White County Lady Warriors basketball coach Jarvis Davenport announced his decision to take on the North Hall boys coaching job. The timing of the move is what makes the change so surprising, as basketball programs typically have their coaches in place much sooner than the final days of July.
Former White County boys basketball and cross country coach, Sam Borg, is the North Hall Athletic Director. He made the news official on Friday, reuniting with Davenport.

Davenport has been a great coach at White County, taking over the girls team ahead of the 2016-17 season. He has led the Lady Warriors to a 98-84 mark over the 7 seasons. Aside from that first season at White County, the team has made the state tournament each season since, including making the Sweet 16 in the 2019-20 campaign. He’s had 3 Region Runner-Up finishes and the final 4 seasons in Cleveland carried a top-10 state ranking at some point during the season.
Davenport is a team-oriented coach who earns the respect of his players. He is exceptional at creating a program that has great depth, and plays from that strength.
