Few programs boast the resume that Jefferson volleyball does. Let’s take a look back to 2010. Since that time (13 seasons), the team has 385 wins, and have made the playoffs every single season. That includes 9 trips past the first round into the Sweet 16, 6 runs to the Elite 8, and 3 of those journeys to the Final 4. Every season since 2010 includes a top-10 ranking, peaking at #1 in 2020. The Lady Dragons have 8 region championships as well in that span. The dynasty continues, as Brittani Lawrence has a stacked team once again entering her 8th season.

Head Coach: Brittani Lawrence, 8th season
2022 Record:
31-8; Final 4; Region Champions; #2 State Ranking

Personnel

Returning Starters: 4

Key Departures: Kamdyn Hendrix, Ava Massingill, Jenna Rogers

Hendrix (libero) moves on after a season of nearly 300 digs and 50 aces, and setter Massingill moves on after 418 assists and 119 digs to go with 55 aces. Rogers (2nd Team All-Region) had 207 digs at libero/setter. That trio will be missed.

Key Returning Players: Kaytlin Johnson, Morgan Hicks, Helena Kelley, Gertie Nazaroff, Amelia Pilgrim, Hannah Howard, Jolie Guenther

It starts with Kaytlin Johnson, the Region Player of the Year. She’s only a junior, and had 318 kills and 63 digs. Hicks returns as a solid outside hitter, and was 1st Team All-Region with 278 kills and 64 digs. Kelley was 1st Team All-Region at setter (373 assists, 204 digs, 165 kills, 75 acec, 29 blocks). Nazaroff enters her senior season, and had 178 digs and 39 aces for JHS. That group will headline a fantastic lineup for the Lady Dragons, and no doubt will dictate the season. Amelia Pilgrim, Hannah Howard, and Jolie Guenther will be stepping into bigger roles this season.

Strengths: All-around talent, culture, coaching

The foundation for this program continues to be built on. The expectations are sky high, and the coaching of Lawrence is fantastic. The talent, starting with Johnson, Kelley, Hicks, and Nazaroff, is supreme.
