The Lady Dragons were shockingly out of the playoffs last season, marking the first time since 2014 not being in the picture. Jefferson’s Kacie Bostwick (157-68 record) gives way to incoming Allan Bailey (137-78), who comes from Apalachee after guiding the Lady Wildcats to a State Runner-Up finish. He is seeking to make a quick 180 to get the Lady Dragons back on track (though they never were off it – just narrowly missed the bracket).
Head Coach: Allan Bailey, 1st season
2022 Record: 17-12; No Playoffs; #9 State Ranking
“We are expecting to compete for a region championship and make a run to Columbus,” exclaims Bailey. “We have a lot of talent on this team and in this program. I am very excited to see what this year holds.”

Personnel
Returning Starters: 7
Key Departures: Taylor Spivey, Maleia Truelove
Spivey (.429 AVG, 1 HR, 28 RBI; 8-7, 2.64 ERA, 60 K) goes on to Piedmont University after a stellar career for Jefferson. Her presence at the plate and in the circle will be missed, and Truelove (.355 AVG, 4 HR, 19 RBI) is a slugger to be replaced.
Key Returning Players: SR IF Audrey Burton, SR IF Avery Hays, SR OF Madison Hanchey, JR P Addison Self, SO OF Ally Baldwin, FR IF Jenna Rap
With Self back in the circle (9-3, 2.38 ERA, 69 K), the Lady Dragons have a returning ace. Audrey Burton (.423 AVG, 1 HR, 19 RBI, .490 OBP) will help anchor the lineup, and others like Hays, Hanchey, Baldwin, and up-and-coming Jenna Rap will provide a great mix of talent.

Strengths
Strengths: “Our pitching and defense will be a strength for us this year,” states Bailey. “We will have a lot of speed on this team. We have a lot of depth on our roster.”
