Habersham Central is always in the mix to do something special, especially under coach Lindsay Herrin, who enters 2023 with 256 career victories and 5 state playoff trips. This Lady Raiders team has massive turnover on the roster, but looks to make a run back to the postseason after narrowly missing out last time around.

Head Coach: Lindsay Herrin, 13th season
2022 Record:
23-14; No Playoffs

“We expect to finish in the top 4 in our very competitive region and make a run in the state tournament,” exclaims Herrin.

Personnel

Returning Starters: 4

Key Departures: Abbey Donaldson, Allie Church

“We graduated 8 seniors which was half of our team,” says Herrin. “Losing school record-breakers, setter Abbey Donaldson and Allie Church, is a blow, but we have great talent replacing those positions.”

Key Returning Players: Amayah Dooley (L), Laci Fitzgerald (S), Callyn Chosewood (MH), Jayden Jarrett

“We have 5 seniors, all who have varsity level experience,” adds Herrin. “Amayah Dooley will be returning as our libero. Laci Fitzgerald will be taking over the setting position for Abbey Donaldson. And middle hitter, Callyn Chosewood, will be returning in the same position. We also have a move-in junior, Jayden Jarrett, who we expect big things from.”

Strengths

Strengths: “As always, our strength comes from our team mentality and willingness to work hard day in and day out,” states Herrin. “We have girls that sound fundamentally and understand that they each play a specific role that is critical to our success.”
