The Tigers were a pesky bunch last season, rolling to a 6-5 record with a win over a reigning State Championship team that hadn’t lost in over 2 years and were ranked #1. Commerce then took region champs Rabun County to the brink in a title-game tilt. A few of the losses came down to the very end. This was a quietly stellar team that rolls back a lot of talent for 2023.
Head Coach: Mark Hollars, 3rd season
2022 Record: 6-5; 1st Round; #10 State Ranking
With Hollars back for his 3rd season, Commerce should continue to build off what he’s installed. Jaiden Daniels is the driving force of the team, and the running game brings back all its standouts.

Personnel & Schemes
Key Departures: Hampton Hutto, Cole Hill, Jack Fagan, Jackson Morris, Cohen Thomason
The Tigers will miss the defensive production of this group. It remains to be seen who fills that production.
Returning Starters: 6 on offense; 6 on defense
Key Returning Players: Jaiden Daniels, Tysean Wiggins, Jacari Huff, Joey Duncan, Mac Mullis
Daniels is fresh off a 1,500-yard, 20-TD season with nearly all of that coming in the ground game. Wiggins (1,000-yd, 10-TD) is a great compliment.
Up & Coming Players: Unkonwn
Offense: Triple Option Based
Daniels and Wiggins, along with Huff, will make sure this offense generates points. As usual, passing the ball will not be a priority, making this team built around averaging at least 3 yards per play to have success.
Defense: Multiple
Hutto, Hill, Fagan, Morris, and Thomason will all be missed greatly. Mac Mullis is the go-to leader on this side of the ball.
Trenches: Starts with Joey Duncan. He’s back and was the highest-graded OL for Commerce. Others will have to step up around him.
Strengths & Areas of Focus
Strengths: Ground attack. No denying the athleticism of Daniels, Wiggins, and Huff. It’s elite.
Focusing On: Defensive standouts to emerge. Someone has to step up here, simply put.
