The Lady Tigers had a solid season a year ago, making the playoffs for the sixth straight season. Commerce will need to have several young players step up and make a name for themselves, especially with their top player sidelined by injury going in. This is a program you never count out, as it is well-coached and gets the most out of each player.
Head Coach: Melissa Mullis, 6th season
2022 Record: 15-14; Playoffs (1-2 in Supers)
“It is early, but I feel like this team will have a lot of heart and will draw together as a team,” says coach Melissa Mullis. “We will always approach games one at a time and play to not beat ourselves.”

Personnel
Returning Starters: 6
Key Departures: Paige Vickery, Hailey Harpis
Vickery is the all-time leading homerun hitter at Commerce. Her bat will be missed immensely, and Harpis was a fantastic player as well.
Key Returning Players: Graci West
West enters her senior year as one of the team’s most talented players. However, she unfortunately suffered an ACL tear in the slow pitch season and had surgery in April – it’s unclear when she will be able to return to action, but it will likely be at best near the end of the season.

Strengths
Strengths: “Not real sure about strengths yet,” says Mullis. “We are just starting to learn ourselves as a new team. We go to team camp, then start summer league games. I believe this will help up to see who will contribute and how.”
