The Lady Leopards narrowly missed out on the state playoffs last season. That is going to be fuel on the fire this season, as Banks County returns 5 talented starters. With a surplus of talent and experience, 2023 could be a great one for this group.
Head Coach: Whittney LaHayne, 3rd season
2022 Record: 16-19; No Playoffs
“My seniors are hungry to take this program to the next level,” says coach Whittney LaHayne. “I see us making a statement this fall, putting our team on everyone’s radar. My expectations are to be able to finish strong in our area to secure a spot in the state playoffs and making it to that next round, past where we have been in past years. For this group, if they continue to work hard and stay determined, the sky is the limit!”

Personnel
Returning Starters: 5
Key Departures: Jadelyn McClure, Abby Irvin, Madison Adams
“We lost three seniors this past fall and we will miss their presence on and off the court,” says LaHayne. “Jadelyn McClure, who is going to play at TMU this fall, was one of our strong setters. She brought a great deal of knowledge and experience to our team that will be missed. Abby Irvin was a key middle whose blocks and hits, along with her sweet personality will be missed. Madison Adams was one of our alternate outside hitters. Her personality and key hits will be greatly missed this season.”
Key Returning Players: Bacey Ausburn, Lola Pruitt, Addison Hoard, Caitlin Bernier, Lillee Parson
“We have the majority of our team coming back this season – key seniors like Bacey Ausburn, Lola Pruitt, Addison Hoard, Caitlin Bernier, and Lillee Parson are giving us a strong foundation,” says LaHayne. “We have two juniors returning, Emmie Chitwood and Shayna Vickery, who are a dynamic part of our team as a whole. I have a few upcoming sophomores who have worked extremely hard during the off season that are going to strengthen our overall team. We have even had a few players move into our area that are going to give us a seamless transition from last season into this fall’s play. I am very excited to see what this fall holds for our team!”

Strengths
Strengths: “Our overall play will be strong this season,” adds LaHayne. “I am confident in the team altogether and in all areas. Our hitters have matured and strengthened in this off season. Our team is growing and gaining experience each year as our program matures.”
