Banks County had an 18-win season under coach Derrick Davis, and were a win away from getting into the Elite 8 round after going 2-2 in the Supers. The Lady Leopards now turn the page after graduating BLITZ Player of the Year Jacy Ayers and several other seniors, and incoming coach Rhett Carroll takes over. This version of the Lady Leopards will officially have no players in the high school program from the 2019 State Championship group.
Head Coach: Rhett Carroll, 1st season
2022 Record: 18-11; State Playoffs (2-2 at Supers); #8 State Ranking
“We expect to improve every day and make some noise,” states Carroll. “We will aim to get better in each season (summer, non-region, region, playoffs).”

Personnel
Returning Starters: 2
Key Departures: Jacy Ayers, Alexis Humphries, Jodie Hood, Kylee Brooks, Shelby Speed, Lindsey Crawford
Ayers was a two-way star, and her presence will be greatly missed. The six seniors were in some ways either prominent players on the 2019 State Championship team or in the system.
Key Returning Players: Allison Murphy, Mary Faulkner, Peyton Gaylor, Tylee Strickland, Reese Murphy, Ryleigh Murphy, Carley Segars, Mackenzee Lewallen, MaCayla Rice
With just a pair of starters back, it’s going to be a gradual increase in this team reaching its potential, but the athletes on the roster are more than capable of being a tough team in 8-AA. A couple to keep an eye on are JR Allison Murphy and SO Mary Faulkner!

Strengths
Strengths: “We have a strong core of players with great leadership,” says Carroll. “The team has bought in and is striving to do great things this fall.”
