The BLITZ Golfers of the Week, named by BLITZ, are Samantha Dewendt and Walker Millholland, both juniors from Dawson County, following great outings at the GHSA State Championships.
WALKER MILLHOLLAND – DAWSON COUNTY
Walker Millholland had a stellar performance at state, finishing 7th individually while leading Dawson County to a team 8th-place finish. The junior carded a 2-day score of 151, including a 4-over 76 on the first day that included a birdie, and a 3-over 75 on day two with 4 birdie putts. This is Millholland’s first POW award.

SAMANTHA DEWENDT – DAWSON COUNTY
Fresh off winning the Area Championship, junior Samantha Dewendt was eager to take on the state field. At the GHSA State Championships for Class 3A, Dewendt represented the Lady Tigers solo. She got off to a sensational start by carding a 2-under 70 after the first round. That included five birdies and one eagle. In the second round, she had a 7-over 79, complete with one birdie on the day. That gave her a two-day score of 149, making her 3rd at state! This is Dewendts second POW award.
