The BLITZ Soccer Players of the Week, named by BLITZ, are Towns County’s Alana Stowers, Brooke Murrell, and Laura Mauldin.

ALANA STOWERS – TOWNS COUNTY

Alana Stowers was an anchor for the Lady Indians defense in a 1-0 win in the state semifinals. The senior defender, at right back, also had the game-winning goal in a PK shootout as Towns County moves on to the state title match. This is Stowers’ first POW award.

BROOKE MURRELL – TOWNS COUNTY

Towns County also got a huge lift from senior Brooke Murrell. The defender, who plays at sweeper, led the defense that produced a shutout in the semifinals. This is Murrell’s first POW award.

LAURA MAULDIN – TOWNS COUNTY

Laura Maudlin was a brick wall in the semifinals win for Towns County. The junior keeper tallied 15 saves, and when it went into PKs, she recorded 2 more! This is Mauldin’s 5th career POW award.
