
With a new school year approaching (even though 2022-23 has some time remaining), we will continue to compile a list of the coaches coming and going (that we know of) and update as we learn of new changes. If we missed anyone, please let us know (EMAIL US MISSING COACHES).

BANKS
BASEBALL – Banks County named Jared Jones its new head coach after the retirement of long-time coach Derrick Davis.
CROSS COUNTRY – Connor Nugent took over the XC program, with Jeremy Steinacher stepping down.
BOYS & GIRLS GOLF – Todd Samples takes over the golf program, as head coach Curtis Chitwood has gone to another school.
SOFTBALL – Banks County named Rhett Carroll its new head coach after the retirement of long-time coach Derrick Davis.
COMMERCE
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Longtime coach Brad Puckett resigned from the program. Commerce named Kevin Furtado (Nathanael Greene Academy head boys coach). He was 0-10 last season for NGA.
DAWSON
VOLLEYBALL – Audrey Goode (Dawson alum and long-time assistant coach at Dawson) has been named head volleyball coach. Coach Tanya Porter stepped down from the head coaching position after launching the program several years ago. She remains at Dawson County.
WRESTLING – Andrew Grigsby, who had been coaching at the Middle School, has been named the new head varsity coach. Long-time coach Arron Haynes decided to step down from the wrestling program head coaching post.

HABERSHAM
CROSS COUNTRY – Kaylee Bosley and Sebastian Galloway took over the program from Karen Hinson.
JEFFERSON
SOFTBALL – Long-time coach Kacie Bostwick stepped down from the program to spend more time with family. Jefferson announced Allan Bailey (formerly from Apalachee) as the new head coach.
LUMPKIN
BOYS BASKETBALL – Lumpkin County named Chris Faulkner (Lumpkin alum, former UNG head men’s coach for 16 years) as head coach after Michael Parker resigned.
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Legendary head coach David Dowse resigned following the State Runner-Up season. Lumpkin named Tess Wright (Calhoun Assistant Coach) as the new head coach.

RABUN
No Known Coaching Changes
STEPHENS
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Jerry Brown was named the new head coach (formerly head coach from Stephens for 30 years from 1980-2010). Laura Baker resigned from the program.
CROSS COUNTRY – Ben Menard takes over the program from Chris Colwell.
SOFTBALL – Kacey Ivey takes over the softball program. Long-time coach Dave Poffenberger has stepped down from the program, but will still be part of the baseball program.
GIRLS & BOYS TENNIS – Thomas Flowers has stepped down as head tennis coach to concentrate on his other coaching duties. Long-time coach Donny Williams and his wife Debby have un-retired again to take over the program.
TALLULAH FALLS
GIRLS SOCCER – Erin Jiminez has been announced as the new girls soccer coach, and previously assisted the MS program. Travis Mullis stepped down from leading the girls soccer program, but remains at the school.
SOFTBALL – Jo Kimbrel (current MS Athletic Director at TFS) was named the head coach of the program, which launched in 2022 with a varsity season a year or two away. Daniele Smith was over the program prior.
SWIMMING – Rachel Butler took another position at another school. Tallulah Falls has named Tamara Griffis Interim Head Coach for 2023-24.

TOWNS
No Known Coaching Changes
UNION
BASEBALL – Union County names Scott Williams (formerly at Lee County) to take over the baseball program after the departure of Zach Odom.
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Union County named football assistant coach Thomas Nelson as the new head coach, after Brad Cochran resigned following just one season at Union. Cochran took the head girls coaching job at East Hall.
WHITE
BOYS BASKETBALL – Coach Robbie Bailey stepped down from his coaching and teaching position to pursue other ventures. Quint Moss was quickly tabbed the ‘Interim’ head coach for the girls.
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Long-time coach Jarvis Davenport announced in late July that he is accepting the North Hall boys job. No replacement has been named yet for White County.
BOYS SOCCER – It has been rumored that head coach James Thomas has stepped down from the program. No replacement has yet been named.
