The BLITZ Girls Basketball Player of the Week were named by BLITZ as Kamryn Grier (Banks County) and Averie Jones (Lumpkin County).

KAMRYN GRIER – BANKS COUNTY

Kamryn Grier came up with her third POW award of the season and fifth of her career last week. The #1-ranked Lady Leopards now have won 21 games in a row – which is insane. That includes wins in the Elite 8 and Final 4, getting to the Class 2A State Championship. The senior forward averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds, adding 2 blocks per game. She also shot a clutch 100% from the charity stripe.

AVERIE JONES – LUMPKIN COUNTY

For the second week in a row, third time this season, and fifth time in her career, Averie Jones is the Player of the Week. The junior guard totaled 36 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 6 assists in the Elite 8 and Final 4 for the #2-ranked Lady Indians. That gives Jones averages of 18.0 points, 40 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.0 assists, as Lumpkin County will seek a State Championship repeat this week.
