The still young boys soccer program at Commerce had a stellar season last year, setting a school record for the program with 11 wins. That was accompanied by a #9 state ranking and a trip to the playoffs. Now the Tigers hand the keys over to Thomas Pee, who looks to get Commerce into the playoffs for a third straight season (excluding COVID-shortened 2020).
*limited preview due to lack of team-provided information*

HEAD COACH: Thomas Pee (1st Season)
2022 RECORD: 11-6; 1A Public State Round One; #9 State Ranking
RETURNING STARTERS: Unknown
KEY DEPARTURES: Unknown
KEY PLAYERS: Jhonny Valle, Chris Valle
STRENGTHS: Valle’s leadership, experience, and talent leading the offense

The Tigers have at least Jhonny Valle coming back, as he is a preseason All-State selection. The senior forward notched more than a dozen goals last season, and will be counted on once again to lead the Tigers’ attack. Johnny’s brother, Chris Valle, is also a preseason All-State selection as a sophomore midfielder. Though the team won just 5 games in 2021 prior to last year’s 11-win season, that ’21 team advanced to the Sweet 16. The 2023 version would love a combo of the 2021-22 run, which would mean a high win total, being in the mix for a region title, and making a deep playoff run.
