It’s a new era in Blairsville as Brad Cochran takes the reigns of what has been a great program over the past decade-plus. Union County is set to begin life without Ava Hunter, the best player to ever suit up for the Lady Panthers. It won’t be easy, but a few returning starters will be a big boost for this team.

HEAD COACH: Brad Cochran (1st Season)
2021-22 RECORD: 13-14, Region 8-AA 4th, 2A Sweet 16, #7 State Ranking
RETURNING STARTERS: 3. Lara Turner, Ariel McCarter, Corrine Hill
KEY DEPARTURES: Ava Hunter (All-State, top scorer and rebounder in program history)
KEY PLAYERS: Lara Turner, Ariel McCarter, Corrine Hill, transfer Katlynn Brown
OFFENSE: “Play fast,” says Cochran.
STRENGTHS: “Competitive defense, young and hungry for success,” adds Cochran.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES: “Learning the teams in the new region,” states Cochran.

Point blank, the Lady Panthers are looking to keep their playoff streak intact at now 3 straight seasons. This is a team that has the leadership and experience with the starters coming back, and a renewed energy in the program. These girls will look to build off what’s been accomplished in the past, but look to create their own legacy.
