An 8-win team last year still found a way to win when it mattered most, making the postseason and making some noise in the region tournament. It was a young group that showed great promise for the future – which is now. Banks County looks to not only just compete, but be in the mix for a region title in a wide-open 8-AA.

HEAD COACH: Ryan Griffin (3rd Season)
2021-22 RECORD: 8-20, Region 8-AA 3rd Place, 2A Rnd 1
RETURNING STARTERS: 3. Kolby Watson, Hunter Youngblood, Mason Adams
KEY DEPARTURES: Dakota Ivey, Bradley Lewis
KEY PLAYERS: Kolby Watson, Hunter Youngblood, Mason Adams, Aaron Scott (Stephens County transfer)
OFFENSE: Multiple
STRENGTHS: “We’re returning a lot of guys, and have some good guard play,” says Griffin.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES: “We are really going to have to focus on rebounding the ball,” admits Griffin.

Bottom line, Banks County had Youngblood really make a splash last season and show that he is ready to be a headliner for the Leopards. Watson’s size is going to be a plus, and Scott’s athleticism is well-documented in football already. No matter what Banks County has, the expectation is always high.
“Our goals don’t change much year to year,” adds Griffin. ” We hope to compete for a region championship.”
