The BLITZ Track & Field Athlete of the Week Fan Vote received 8,040 votes, with Lumpkin County’s Mercades Housman winning with 3,553. BLITZ then picked Jada Pittman (Jefferson) as Co-AOW.

MERCADES HOUSMAN – FAN VOTE

Senior Mercades Housman continues her impressive season. The Lumpkin County standout in one meet last week placed first in the long jump (15-01), triple jump (33-07), and 4th in the 100 meter dash (13.31). This is Housman’s second POW award this season.

JADA PITTMAN – BLITZ PICK

Jefferson senior Jada Pittman is determined to win some hardware this season. The Lady Dragons athlete was phenomenal in a meet last week. She was first in the 100 meter dash (12.70), first in the long jump (18-02), and second in the triple jump (35-10). This is Pittman’s first POW award.
