The BLITZ Track & Field Athlete of the Week Fan Vote received 11,218 votes, with Tallulah Falls’ Julianne Shirley winning with 4,715. BLITZ then picked Turner Grimmett (Rabun County) as Co-AOW.

JULIANNE SHIRLEY – FAN VOTE

Sophomore Julianne Shirley had a solid first meet of the season last week. The Tallulah Falls standout finished runner-up in the high jump with a new PR of 4’10, and was 6th in the 4×400 and 7th in the 4×100 in those relay events. This is her first POW award.

Turner Grimmett is a multi-sport athlete who gets it done on the football field and on the track. The senior placed first last meet in 2 events – the 110 meter hurdles (15.84) and the 300 MH (44.94). This is Grimmett’s second POW award, the other coming in football.
