Dawson County must pen a new chapter with 3-year starting QB Zach Holtzclaw heading off to Cumberland University. Talented players roll off the roster, but as Sid Maxwell tends to do, it’s ‘Next Man Up’ for the Tigers. Dawson County finished as the Region Runner-Up after going 5-1 in 7-AAA, and made another second round appearance in the state playoffs. Both Holtzclaw and Bailey Dameron (All-State) were a huge part of that, as well as too many defensive standouts to name just a few.
The QB battle should be wide open, and after the top two RBs move on in Conley Dyer and Jackson Grindle, there is a huge opening there too. At the WR corps, yet again openings are to be filled, as Dameron moves on to the college ranks and the next leading receiver graduated too. Dom LeBlanc is a player to look out for, as well as Kade Moledor on defense. Those two should have monster seasons, and we’re thinking the same is true for Cade Adams and Kevin Haymond. The defense might be the strength of this team in 2022. Dawson County announced its 2022 schedule back in mid-December, so here goes:
