The 2021 Competition Cheer season concluded Friday and Saturday with the State Championships. For two local programs, it was a dream come true.
Dawson County won the Class 3A State Championship, while Jefferson won the 4A title as well. This was a long time coming for Dawson, who had finished in the top-5 at state 3 straight seasons prior and for 6 seasons in a row before this, placed in the top 10. For Jefferson, this is a similar feeling, as the Lady Dragons finished as state runner-up each of the past 2 seasons.
Meanwhile, Commerce got runner-up in Class 1A Public, marking 10 straight seasons of coming in the top 5.
