The BLITZ Softball Player of the Week award goes to both Union County’s Gracie Gladding and Dawson County’s Annslee Kirby.

GRACIE GLADDING – BLITZ PICK

Union County marches on to the Elite 8 in Columbus, thanks in large part to the Lady Panthers’ Gracie Gladding. The sophomore catcher batted .500, including belting a go-ahead homerun in game 2 and driving in 4 runs, while also notching a double. This is Gladding’s first POW award.

ANNSLEE KIRBY – BLITZ PICK

Dawson County’s Annslee Kirby takes her first POW award. The senior catcher hit .636 to help guide the Lady Tigers to the Elite 8 in Columbus. She went 7-for-11 at the plate with an RBI and 3 runs scored. She threw out both would-be base stealers, catching all 18 innings over the 3-game series.
