Our Game of the Week takes us to Tiger for a showdown between #1-ranked Rabun County and a 2-2 Pickens (SC) team.
RABUN COUNTY
The Wildcats are scoring points like they’re going out of style, and putting video game numbers on the out-of-state opponents. It’s been a progression of 13 points, 47, 59, and 63. That can’t keep climbing, but you get the point. The offense is finding another level. Gunner Stockton recently topped 200 career TDs (passing & rushing), and now trails Deshaun Watson’s record by only 12 TDs. At his rate, he’ll have that in 2 more games. Meanwhile, Jaden Gibson (605 yds) is on pace for 1,500 yards in the 10-game regular season, which could put him in reach of 2K if/when the Cats make a deep playoff run. The defense has been getting stingier (22 points to 14, 14, and 7). No sign of letting up…
PICKENS (SC)
The Blue Flame are coming to Rabun for a first-ever meeting, and has so far gone 2-0 at home and 0-2 on the road. That’s not promising coming into this one. Giving up 88 points in the last 2 games (both losses) also isn’t a good trend. Pickens is hoping for its first winning season since 2013.

OUR PREDICTION
This game has the look of yet another runaway win for the Wildcats, who come in toting a 45.5 points per game offense going up against a team that has given up 31.75 on average. Look for Rabun to get another gigantic output from Gunner Stockton and Jaden Gibson in particular. OUR PICK: Rabun County
