The Leopards made the state playoffs by default in 2020, though Banks County forfeited the first round game after going 0-10 in the regular season. The team was bitten hard by the injury bug and couldn’t find consistency in the lineup. This season will be more telling, as it’s coach Jay Reid’s fourth season with the program. That’s the first time in recent memory a Banks County football coach has stuck with it this long, and it means this group is officially his with years in the program.

Personnel & Schemes

Key Departures: Jace Bennett, Carter Stroud, Jonathan Moon, Josh Stapleton

Key Returning Players: Roman Haynes, Cade Herrin, Bowen Roberts

Big loss on the defensive side of the ball in Bennett graduating. Another crucial departure that Banks County never got to realize at the varsity level is hyped freshman Jaiden Daniels, who left for Commerce. On to good news, the Leopards will be led by the trio of Roberts, Haynes, and Herrin throughout the 2021 season. How they do will determine how the team does.

Up & Coming Players: TBD

Offense: Bowen Roberts took over under center last year, with Haynes getting a lot of action out of the backfield.

Defense: The defensive setup was a 3-4 last year.

Strengths & Areas of Focus

Strengths: Haynes, Herrin, and Roberts. That trio will dictate the pace of this team.

Focusing On: Avoiding injury and consistency across all positions.
