
Week Twelve is in the books. That’s a wrap for the regular season. Here’s what went down on Friday night.
The Most Dramatic – Dawson County falling 34-21 to North Hall
The Biggest Blowout – Jefferson 47-0 over Madison County
The Biggest Upset – White County throttling Cherokee Bluff 48-7
THE LOCALS
North Hall 34, Dawson County 21
The Trojans capitalized on multiple Tiger miscues and claimed the Region Runner-Up rights that comes with a home playoff game. North Hall went up 20-0 quickly and iced the game with a late TD.
Elbert County 36, Banks County 6
Banks County fell 36-6 to close the regular season at 1-9 overall.
#2 Commerce 17, Lincoln County 7
The Tigers claimed the 8-A region title with a 17-7 win over Lincoln. Sammy Brown tied the game at 7 with a rushing score, which stayed that way through the half. Dreylan Martin broke the tie in the fourth with a TD, and a field goal capped the scoring.
White County 48, #9 Cherokee Bluff 7
J Ben Haynes connected with Darius Cannon on 12-, 36-, and 22-yd TD passes to push White County up 21-7 early in the second. Haynes then threw a 34-yd TD to Cooper Turner, then ran one in from 3 yards out to make it 34-7 after three quarters. Silas Mulligan had 1- and 5-yd TD runs to polish it off.
#1 Jefferson 47, Madison County 0
Kam Robinson had three punt returns for TDs in the first half alone, scoring on 30, 41, and 37 yards. Malaki Starks threw a pair of TD to Jordan Perry, and Carter Stephenson had a rushing score. Robinson had a rushing score also, his 4th total TD of the game. It was 40-0 at the half.
#9 Washington-Wilkes 34, Towns County 0
The Indians close their 2020 season with a 34-0 loss, ending at 3-6 overall.
Stephens County 61, East Jackson 12
The Indians made up for lost time with a huge blowout win over East Jackson.

West Hall 56, Lumpkin County 13
The Indians dropped a tough one to West Hall, closing their season at 0-10.
Union County 7, Gilmer 0 (Thursday)
Jonah Daniel was back this week, and scored a second quarter TD. Missed opportunities abounded for both sides, as Union bypassed a 30-yd FG to ice the game by going for it and failing. Gilmer then marched down and was turned away in the red zone. Union gets a much-needed win for morale ahead of the state playoffs.
