While the illusion is that Dawson County native Jacob Poston was just running for the Tigers like yesterday, he just wrapped up his senior regular season at Augusta State University. The former Dawson standout distance runner has enjoyed immense success at the next level.

Just this past Saturday, Poston ran a time of 24:23, leading ASU to a second straight team championship in the Peach Belt Conference. He came in second overall, making it 12 top-5 finishes in his career there. He was third in the conference in 2019 as a junior, and fourth the year prior in 2018.

Poston was a back-to-back BLITZ Runner of the Year as a junior and senior at Dawson County, and won the region title as in both seasons as well. He has the state runner-up as a senior and logged a PR of 15:32. He also had multiple region titles in track and field and multiple state top-5 and top-10 performances in the 800 and 1600.
