Week Eleven is here. Playoff implications abound and region titles to be claimed…

DISCLAIMER: We dissect the numbers, check against other projections, utilize the brain and not the heart. If we pick against any of our beloved 11 programs, take it as a diss if you want, or use it as motivation. We obviously would love to see all 11 programs win every single game, so we’ll celebrate even if we’re wrong if it means our locals walk off the field as winners.

THE LOCALS

#1 Rabun County vs Union County

The Wildcats look for win number seven in a row, which would clinch a seventh straight over the arch-rivals, and a seventh straight region championship! VERDICT: RABUN COUNTY

Lumpkin County vs Dawson County

The Indians host the Tigers. Dawson is coming off a tight 28-27 loss to Cherokee Bluff that pretty much takes them out of a region title. However, a win here sets up a monster game next week at North Hall. VERDICT: DAWSON COUNTY

Towns County vs Social Circle

The Indians got back in the win column. Now comes Social Circle. Towns County would like to create a win streak to help bolster their case of a playoff berth. VERDICT: TOWNS COUNTY

#3 Commerce @ #5 Washington-Wilkes

The Tigers have been rolling as of late, and now travel to Wash-Wilkes in hopes of getting some final tune-ups before the state playoffs. A win also is a step closer to a region championship. This is a legit top-5 matchup! VERDICT: COMMERCE

#1 Jefferson @ North Oconee

The Dragons travel to North Oconee in hopes of gathering another win that brings them closer to a region title and perfect regular season. VERDICT: JEFFERSON

Habersham Central vs Central Gwinnett (TUESDAY, NOV 17)

Technically, this game is part of Week 11 action, even though it falls on a Tuesday. We’re taking the Raiders in their final home game of the season. VERDICT: HABERSHAM CENTRAL

White County @ Gilmer (Canceled by Gilmer due to COVID issues)

The Warriors earn an automatic win as Gilmer has canceled due to COVID issues. This stamps a ticket for White County to the state playoffs. Unfortunately, these guys deserved better than a forfeit win.

Stephens County @ #2 Oconee County (Canceled by Stephens due to COVID issues)

Stephens County called this game off due to COVID-related issues. It’s the second straight week the Indians are plagued by this, cancelling against Hart County last week. Not sure what any of this means for the team to be able to maybe complete their season at all.
