Commerce’s Michael Sherman picks up his first-ever BLITZ award after rushing for 133 yards and a pair of TD for the #3-ranked Tigers in their win last Friday. The senior running back has 209 yards overall on the season on 26 carries, averaging 8.04 yards per carry. He has 5 TD, and has 6 tackles on defense as well.

SUTTON JONES – BLITZ PICK

Rabun County senior wide receiver and safety Sutton Jones had a career night on defense. He read Elbert County’s QB very well, to the tune of 3 (THREE!!) interceptions. Jones also had 3 catches for 13 yards, and added a tackle and 2 more pass deflections. For the season, Jones has 207 yards receiving on 22 catches to go with one TD. He has 7 tackles (1 for loss), 4 interceptions, a forced fumble and fumble recovery, and 5 pass deflections. This is Jones’ first POW award.
