Things are starting to get serious, as we’re now reaching area play for our local programs. That means we are in the back stretch. Many teams have improved their play as of late, and that means a lot of movement in our latest Power Rankings.

#1 JEFFERSON
RECORD: 14-5 (2-0)
LAST RANKING: #1
Jefferson remains at the top of the heap. Habersham is the only team to best them among the local teams, but the full body of work, and winning 7 of the last 8 keeps the Lady Dragons here.
#2 HABERSHAM CENTRAL
RECORD: 13-6 (1-1)
LAST RANKING: #4
Habersham continues to improve and get better with each passing match. The Jefferson win was proof of that. The Lady Raiders have won 8 of their past 9 overall, and have head-to-head wins over JHS, Stephens, Union, White, Lumpkin, and Union.
#3 WHITE COUNTY
RECORD: 11-4 (0-0)
LAST RANKING: #2
The Lady Warriors have slipped a bit, going 2-3 over the last 5. However, the girls have had a great season and still have a lot ahead of them. They’ve beaten Rabun twice, Tallulah twice, Stephens twice, and Union once, and have dropped one to Tallulah and one to Habersham.

#4 LUMPKIN COUNTY
RECORD: 17-6 (1-1)
LAST RANKING: #3
The Lady Indians have dropped 4 of their last 6 overall, but sit comfortably in the top four here with wins over Tallulah, Union, Habersham, Rabun (twice), and a loss to Habersham.
#5 TALLULAH FALLS
RECORD: 8-11 (1-1)
LAST RANKING: #5
Tallulah Falls remains at number five, and have played extremely well as of late. A recent 6-game win streak was snapped, but the team is starting to look like what we expected this season. A win over White County after losing to them twice was huge for the morale of the team, and two wins over Rabun also.

#6 UNION COUNTY
RECORD: 6-6 (2-0)
LAST RANKING: #8
Union has been beaten by Dawson, yes…but the Lady Panthers have reeled off four straight wins and are trending in this direction.
#7 RABUN COUNTY
RECORD: 4-14 (2-1)
LAST RANKING: #7
Rabun stays at number seven, and have won two of the last four. The Lady Cats are off to a good start in area play.
#8 DAWSON COUNTY
RECORD: 1-9 (0-0)
LAST RANKING: #6
Dawson did get a nice win over Union, but still have some things to figure out for the stretch run.
#9 BANKS COUNTY
RECORD: 7-9 (2-3)
LAST RANKING: #10
Banks County has been much better than most programs in a first varsity season. Winning two of the last four has certainly helped.
#10 STEPHENS COUNTY
RECORD: 3-12 (2-2)
LAST RANKING: #9
The Lady Indians have won two of the last four, so we are starting to see some improvement as Stephens is now in the thick of area play.
#11 COMMERCE
RECORD: 0-12 (0-2)
LAST RANKING: #11
STATE RANKING: N/A
Commerce just grabbed its first set win in program history. That’s a start. Next, the Lady Tigers would love to earn that first match win!
